“Vishal and I had been counting down the days until we would see Cirque du Soleil. We had plans to attend with one of my closest friends, one whom I had not seen for about a year and a half. I eagerly made plans with my friend for Vishal and I. Little did I know, the plans had already been made before hand - and I was not the one planning.
On our second date, Vishal and I went to Disney Springs. We sat on a bench near Cirque du Soleil for about 2.5 hours just talking. It was as early as this date that I knew that he was the guy for me. It was also this date that we made plans to eventually go see Cirque du Soleil. When the opportunity came up to go see the show, we jumped on it! After that, Vishal regularly told me exactly how excited he was.
The week of the proposal was one of the busiest weeks at work for me. I ended up going to work even that Saturday to finish up some tasks. I did my best to rush out on time to meet Vishal so we could go to Disney Springs to meet my friend but unfortunately was running late like I always do. We ended up leaving later than we should have and we were stuck in traffic. Vishal is one of the most punctual people, so I was not really suspicious of anything when he was so nervous/upset that we were running late.
We finally reached Disney Springs. After parking, I proceeded to cut across the parking lot. Vishal suggested we walk on the sidewalk because it is safer. I thought to myself “First he gets upset about being late, now we are going the long way.” I had no idea what was going to happen and continued to just rush to meet my friend, even turning down taking a picture on the beautiful day.
Finally, as we continued to walk, I noticed a man sitting on a bench with a jacket. Next thing I know he walked across us and handed Vishal this jacket he was holding. Vishal started to put on the jacket and I suddenly realized what was happening. I was so shocked and happy! Shortly after, all of our friends and family from out of town came out to surprise us, making this day even better. All in all, this day ended as one of the greatest days I could have imagined and I am so happy to begin forever and ever with Vishal.” One month to go!

❗️LOVE STORY ALERT❗️ Her story: 7 years of constant overlap at NYU and having a few similar friends weren't enough for us to meet. When our friends started dating and set us up, I decided to take a cab on a summer Friday at 5pm all the way from the Upper East Side to Tribeca and let's just say that was a huge lapse in judgement. I showed up about 45 minutes late, had a great first date, and cut it short to go hang out with my mom, thinking, Ravi must think I'm an extremely odd girl and there will be no second date. Lucky for me, he's a sucker for my weirdness.
His story: After a series of missed connections through NYU and many mutual friends our friends Karthik and Shruti decided we should meet and set us up. We texted for a couple weeks before we found time to go out on a date. Our first picture "together" was actually 4 years before we met - it was a group shot a friends' wedding.
We’re ready to officially kick off the 2019 wedding season with Ravi & Sonam this weekend 🎉 #ThatsWhatShahSaid #RavingForSonam
