Personally, I recently planned my own Mehndi event for my wedding in my parents backyard, and it was my favorite event from the weekend because it was customized and designed all by me.

Seeing all your hard work executed to perfection is the most satisfying feeling!

I started designing my Mediterranean-themed Mehndi when I first came across this beautiful blue and white dhoti-sari outfit.
I knew I had to have it, and all these ideas came rushing to my mind.

From evil eye favors, to falafels for dinner, I had everything match the Mediterranean theme. I even had a lawn sign put out that read "Alisha & Rakesh Ki Shaadi Hai" to create some hype and make it obvious for guests to know which house the party was at.

For the comfort of our guests, we had the grass freshly mowed the evening before, tiki torches set out to prevent bugs, and set up a few flood lights and string lights to brighten up the evening when it got dark out.

A photo backdrop is a must, so I created a bright pink floral backdrop with royal blue accents.

My favorite part - unrelated to the theme, was my hand crafted "Daru Ki Gaddi." It was such a huge hit with our friends since behind it was where we kept the bar and drinks.

We ended the night with a champagne toast and sparklers under the stars!
